With over forty years of experience of combining fudge with other products, we have seen a huge variety of stores.
In the UK in particular since 2003, we have seen the re-emergence of the old fashioned sweet shop and traditional sweet shop selling weigh out sweets and combining them with a fudge counter.
Sweet Shop
We have helped many of our customers develop this kind of shop over the last two or three years. If you need to source 200 sweets together with jars, labels, display items etc., you can easily end up with ten different suppliers which means ten lots of paperwork, ten orders to place and so on.
To make life easier for customers and prospective customers, Calico teamed up with Sweet ‘n Things in Newmarket to supply a one-stop shop for the whole concept.
If you are not familiar with Calico Cottage, we must emphasize that we are not a franchise – we simply rely on the on-going supply of fudge ingredients to make money. If your store is not selling fudge, we are not making money which gives us a big incentive to make sure you set up correctly in the first place and also to support you as the years go by.
We are applying the same philosophy to the sweet shop concept. No franchise fees, no consultancy fees, no written contracts and no royalties. Furthermore, Calico does not profit from the supply of sweets. We simply aim to help you get started with as much knowledge as possible so that you develop a profitable business and continue to buy fudge mix from us.
